Big news update contained!!   Ok, so the last few days I’ve been battling “g strand strep throat” which apparently isn’t very common cuz it gives flu like symtoms, as well as the whole unhappy throat thing. I was actually miserable enough to go to a doctor – which I rarely do. :-( I’m incredibly glad I went because the doc gave me some throat numbing medicine, which although it tastes terrible and only lasts 20mins, allowed me to fall asleep last night. After not sleeping at all the night before, that felt like a small miracle.

Ok .. so big news .. well first off, I’m officially at the “2 week” marker.   That’s not really the big news though. I found out about my host family! I was told that I wouldn’t find out about them til I got there, and I figured they were waiting to place us or something – yano to make sure they made a good match. So … I was quite surprised to find a description of them in my email box this morning.

The dad is 35 and is a Tour Guide, and the mom is 29 and is a stay-at-home mom of 3 kids: 6yrs, 2yrs and 4mths old. I’ll be sharing a room with the 6yr old. They’ve been a host family before and apparently really enjoyed it. I’m really excited to get some gifts to bring them – especially the kids.  Since I’m the youngest in my family I’ve never had the experience of living with younger siblings, and so this is quite exciting because I’ll be their big sis for 10mths.

Anyways .. thats all I’ve got folks … I’m gonna go try and get some tomato soup to stay down.
