Well I just wanted to say I’m back in the States. I arrived last week.. and I’m currently up in the Seattle area for SICM (Students in Campus Ministry). I thought I’d use my chance to let the world know what is going on… I look forward to sitting down and really writing some more about my feelings and experiences about returning. It’s been an interesting transition..

Hey, I was looking at your website, is it true you have some time between the end of SICM & the start of summer term? I was wondering if you could come to Portland to meet with those of us that are traveling to the Middle East this summer, I’ll treat you to food…at a pretty good Lebanese Restaurant I know. Would Wednesday the 29th work?

I bet you feel like I did when I came back from Tenerife: ultimate culture shock. However, you prob. feel WAY more culture shock b/c of the following reasons — 1.) you were gone longer from the States, 2.) the place you were was much more terrifying, I am sure, than the place I was in. Welcome back! :) We’ve missed you … Hope your story motivates & inspires others completely. God bless! :)

I am sorry I did not find your blog sooner! Glad you are back safely and yeah it really does take some adjusting , we spent 10 years abroad. I am looking forward to reading your reflections and hopefully seeing some pictures of your travels.

Yeah, the whole re-entry process takes some adjustment…I usually have strange cravings for Taco Bell and want to be alone alot as I’m driving around people watching and being disgusted at the materialism and pointlessness of what I see in American society when I get back from the middle east….
