The hunt for a used-car has officially begun.
I’ve been driving Green Bean – otherwise known as my moped – around town for about five months now. Although I love her, she is making me very, very cold and wet. I have a feeling that my friends and family are tiring of driving me around and lending me their cars. So – I’m reaching deep into my savings to purchase a vehicle.
Now… “deep into my savings” may make you think I’m spending $5,000 or $10,000… oh no…. my savings only dreams of being that deep. I’m all about the $1,500 – $2,000 beater cars. (Can I get a what, what?)
So, my plan of attack is this:
2) Go up to Portland on Tuesday to look at a couple (so far there’s a ’92 Prelude and ’95 Jetta for sure on the list)
3) Test drive them and pretend I know something about buying cars
4) Try and find a mechanic in Portland who will give them a quick thumbs up or down
5) Drive back to Corvallis in my very own new (to me) car that hopefully won’t die anytime soon

Girl, it’s all good to have a “beater car.” Mine is a 95 Ford Probe, I’ve had it 3 years, & she’s still going strong. Praise the Lord! :) Love ya.

I absolutely love your new profile pic! Perhaps you have had it up for a while and my lack of internet access is only now noting it, but it is beautiful!

I just read that satire of Jesus speaking to the Republicans. Very amusing! I find it sad, though, how Christian political activism has alienated so many people because many Christians are more concerned with getting their Christian-themed laws passed than actually going out and LOVING people.
Jesus didn’t go around protesting Roman policies. He hung out with prostitutes, drunkards, thieves, liars, swindlers, homosexuals, criminals, etc and showed them love. He didn’t get into political arguments at the expense of treating others the way they should be treated.

Hey my hubby has a red jetta, I forget the year, but he’s gonna sell it for $2,000 I’m not sure exactly when, so I’ll get back to you. It seems like a pretty good car.

“what what!!!” heck yes! Get the Jetta, They are good cars. Mine is a 97 and has 197,000 miles on it. I’ve driven it coast to coast 4 times and numerous other places. with regular maintennce it has hardly given me any problems (knocks on wood)…fun I wish i was free, I would invite myself to go with you, but i’m not. It was a good thought though

Hey good luck with that. Trying to get a vehicle can be so stressful. I’ll pray God leads you to the right one for you.
As I was reading your post, I realized I had a dream about hanging out with you and Bull Meister last night. Very strange. I rarely dream about xanga people. It was some sort of missions trip, too.
