You have touched on an issue that I think really resonates with moderate and progressive Christians (as well as the secular world). Even though a lot of these people aren’t emptying their wallets and seeing how they can help those suffering in the Gaza strip, they DO largely wish that people like Hagee and Falwell would stop being the spokespeople for Christianity.

I grew up in a fundamentalist environment much like it sounds like you did. And my dad (a pastor), although I love him and we greatly disagree on theology despite our common faith in Christ, would consistently get on the Hagee/Robertson/Falwell/Haggard bandwagon on Israel as well as any other political issue for the purpose of getting Jesus back to take the [E]vangelicals away from this world that God apparently hates. And I would get just as riled up as you. I’d better stop typing. I might start preaching myself.

Your post is very thought provoking.  I hear much about this from the CPT’ers.  It is a sad state when christians promote, turn a blind eye, or justify cruel treatment and starvation of any individual.  I can’t imagine the members of the CUFI get the good and faithful servant award.
