I’ve put in somewhere between 90-100 resumes….whhhyyy won’t anyone call me for an interview?!
Living near Nick is beautiful. Last night he had to work late so I brought a basket of food I’d made (lasagne, salad & strawberry shortcake) to the shop. We had tea lights and the computer monitor as lighting.
Today I came down to UW Milwaukee for a non-profit career fair that has proven to be a waste of time. Another dead end. :::sigh:::
I’m getting pretty settled – minus my room which still needs some help.

Hey, I just read YOUR message. Sorry, I’m late. Thanks for your #, and I thought Pete gave mine to Nick to give to you.. something happened along the way, whoops! Oh well, maybe this weekend?

Sounds like you are having fun with your man :) Well dont let that dirty job market get you down, I looked for a job here for about nine months. On second thought, I guess that’s not very reassuring, but it might make you feel better… :) We’ll be sending your guys’ invites soon!

What happened to your car?
This is how we communicate. Seriously. *sheesh*

My schedule’s kind of odd, but I have Monday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, all Thursday, and part of Friday mornings free, along with the weekend of course. And mostly I’m looking for things to do as well. Well, I could do some apartment cleaning, but to be honest, I still haven’t figured out exactly what that means. Anyway, there it is, and Thursday’s would probably work best without Peter, but since today is Thursday, that’s last minute… And with Peter, pretty much the same as Nick. Yay!!

I’m glad you made it safe! you guys are so cute! :-)

Hey, it’s me, Amanda. Do you remember me? I hope so, because I’m so glad you’re here, although I feel your pain with not being able to find employment right away. How in the world does anyone expect you to survive if no one gives you a job, that’s what I want to know. It’s obnoxious!! But I’m still glad you’re here, and hang in there. God has a way of making things available, and at the last possible second, or so it seems.
And we should hang out…

The pastor from Amman was here at the net work meeting this week. We all wish he had a chance to really share more than a greeting (it was good though). We’ll pray for you. Did you hear Steve xanga/standes is going to Oxford in August? BTW...It’s really quiet here in Oregon without you.

I could’ve told ya there wouldn’t be anything at a UWM Career Fair. That’s a complete oxymoron. Most of the people working here are oxymorons! :P
We need to talk about professional wrestling more :)

Sounds fun!

As a hard-core lasagnA maker, I agree. And not just because Nick pretends to like my lasagnA. Which I’m making for dinner next Monday, if anyone’s interested. So there boo-ya.
April 25th, 2006 at 5:38 pm
Yeah Sheryl, she could have a job in about 10 minutes, but she’s not interested. Oh well! =) Thanks for the lasagnA. Hehe, no alternative spellings for me. David Bobke as my witness.

ditto on the meal and resumes. you are ambitious! maybe some nick guy could hook you up with a tree job or something. you know-maximizing your time together. ;-)

90-100 resumes? really?
April 25th, 2006 at 3:30 pm
Glad to hear the update. I’m impressed you would make lasagne for two….

Ok, HOW COOL was it that I just got to stop and chat with you in the Union?? I love that you’re here :-) Oh yeah, and I think we’re doing something in like half an hour. You rock.

So nice to hear from you and what you are up to! Enjoy your time in Wisconsin!! Sounds like you already are!

Och. Career fairs. Nothing like flashing your humanities degree around and feeling like you don’t matter. I feel your pain. Acutely.
Cooking food for the one you love is one of the most blessed and satisfying experiences this life can offer.

wow. I just realized you were moving! I think it’s funny that with all our common friends we have not since met up again since that one time…
I’m gonna make a stop in London in July :o)
Have a great time in Wisconsin…eat lots of cheese….
