Have you ever heard, “too heavenly minded to be any earthly good”? It certainly applies to how the church does or does not reach the world. The world keeps changing, and we also must change too: in the way we talk, in the way we argue our points (or don’t), and in the way we love. The world should look at us and desire a drink from the satisfying Rock. They should see our works, and glorify our Father in Heaven. They should know that we love them, and that we will never stop praying for them. The believer must reach out toward the sinner, and invite him, in terms he/she understands, to come to Jesus. We need to be about the Father’s business. AL

Yes, and I'll go you one better. Our ultimate destination is not heaven, but Earth.

Look at Rev 21.

When there is a new heaven and a new Earth, the holy city, New Jerusalem, comes down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

ok, so this is a late comment, but i just wanted to say yes! I read his book A New Kind of Christian last summer and it was amazing!! I remember the part where he talked about the Kingdom of Heaven being here all around us. It really made me think about the way we live our lives right now. Anyways, good response to what you read. Keep those good thoughts coming….who knows, maybe you’ll start something! Oh yes, one more thing. My friend that was with me at the WMS and I are support raising right now to get over there and help Jen Day. We’re so excited (as you probably can remember) and we will (by faith) leave mid-August. It was fun meeting you… it was a little sickening being around you and nick, because you’re ridiculously in love and well, it’s safe to say that I miss the ability to be like that around other people, so congrats on that part…
