After coming back to Durham I’ve realized how much I miss having sunshine. It’s been overcast for the past four days and very windy… *sigh*… I’m ready for some summer warmth. I find it a lot more challenging to want to get up and be productive when it’s icky outside… today I just want to crawl back into bed and lay there until the weather improves.
Actually part of these feelings are a result of emotionally letting my guard down… knowing I’m so close to moving back to America, I’ve really indulged those thoughts about missing people and places… which I wouldn’t have allowed myself to do several months ago because it would’ve just driven me crazy. Here I am only 12 days away from seeing people and it feels like time is crawling by and the loneliness is more difficult to push aside. I need to be especially productive in the next few days, but instead, my steam is running out and it’s taking a lot more energy to do less.
Ah well. I’ve been in this position before and at least I know that there is an end in sight and soon I’ll have Nick & my friends and family’s arms wrapped around me. That is comforting. =)

We are ready to see you too! Since today is beautiful and sunny, it is not hard to be joyful, but when the sun is gone, many of us feel much more sluggish – I know what you mean. Just spoke to a native Brit – he’s very content in the U.S. though and doesn’t ever want to return. Always makes me think of you, Esther, when I hear those accents. Have you changed your inflections at all? See you soon!

I’ve been terrible about keeping in touch this way, I’m sorry! No matter how hard I try, I have never been great at correspondence. But we are looking forward to seeing you when you get back!!

Well I hate to say it …….but it has been in the 70′s and 80′s here for the last week! But not to worry the rain is coming soon and I will be feeling the same way! Can’t wait to see you!
