I went to visit Josh & Kirsten for a couple of days since I knew I wouldn’t be seeing them for ages now that they’ve moved out of Oregon. It was just like old times… only much sunnier. I love having friends who I can be separated from for long periods and then get together like no time has passed – I think that may be the true test of friendship. And for some photos:

   I know your dad would have been happy that you visited Spain (I think he was always trying to convince you to go?).  I’m glad you had fun!

   RYC:  I admired Falwell’s persistence in urging people to be involved; I did not like the “bull in the china shop” personality.  He was able to smile while telling people they were wrong, and able to tell them why.  Yes, he stuck his foot in his mouth a number of times, and had to appologize.  He may have hurt Christianity’s reputation, but I think he showed the tough love and truth that would help restore sanity.  He brought balance to Martin Luther King Jr.’s social action, and a voice was needed to counter the false witness of Jimmy Carter’s understanding of being Born Again.  Carter brought that phrase out into public, but did not do us any favors when his stands on ERA, homosexual acceptance, liberal “anything goes” allowance, NEA “bow down” to a cabinet level endorsement in his Presidency.

   Like most people, the final analysis of a person’s life can not come until after their death.  May we be as careful of judgments as we would want extended toward us, and God is the final judge.

   Your true friends are the ones you can lose touch with for long periods of time then come together as if it was yeaterday!

   You may be too skinny to come home now
