Here’s another video installment of my sit down with Dr. Borg & Dr. Crossan. This time around I spoke with them about their perception of Jesus’ position as a political dissident in Roman occupied first-century Palestine.
Recognizing that this heritage of mixing religion and politics (in sometimes very deadly ways) continues to the present, I also wanted to hear about their take on what they believe Jesus would think of American Christianity today. Would he be ashamed that the label ‘Christian’ means to be one of his followers?

[via YouTube] @fruticetum Well, that’s a real possibility. And you are certainly entitled to think that. But what we don’t know is if Jesus would have thought that. He never addressed the issue. Therefore the “Jesus scholars” don’t address it here either.

A fetus embryo, and zygote are no different from an adult except for stage of development. Of course it’s a person.

[via YouTube] @fruticetum Well, that would probably depend on whether or not Jesus considered an unborn fetus to be a person, something he never really discussed as far we know. We just don’t know what Jesus’ stance would be on something like that.
